Camping and Health Pass: What you need to know about camping in France this summer

 

THE health pass came into force in France on July 21in the heart of summer. First concerned: places of leisure and culture, including campsites. As of August 9, the pass extends to new establishments.

What is the health pass?

The health pass is proof presented in paper or digital format (via the TousAntiCovid application). It takes the form of a QR Code. You can obtain it thanks to one of these 3 conditions :

  1. There vaccination (complete vaccination schedule)
  2. There proof of a negative test (RT-PCR or antigen) of less than 48 hours for the “activities health pass”.
  3. The result of a positive RT-PCR or antigen test attesting to the recovery from Covid-19dating back at least 11 days and less than 6 months.

How to access your campsite this summer?

3 scenarios arise:

  1. Your campsite offers only accommodation or pitchests? It is then not affected by the health pass obligation. This concerns around a third of campsites in France.
  2. Your campsite has a bar or restaurant but no swimming pool or performance hall ? You will be asked for a health pass from August 9.
  3. Your campsite has a bar, a restaurant, a performance hall or an aquatic area ? A health pass must be presented at entry since July 21.

You will be asked for a health pass at your campsite only upon arrival. You will not need to show it again during your stay. It will allow you to access all the campsite services and equipment.

What about your children? Rest assured, the health pass is not required for those under 18 years old.

  • Audition, conference, projection and meeting rooms
  • Marquees, tents and structures
  • Concert and performance halls
  • Cinemas
  • Festivals (sitting and standing)
  • Closed and covered sporting events
  • Outdoor establishments
  • Games rooms, escape games, casinos
  • Places of worship when they host cultural and non-cultual activities
  • Fairs and exhibitions
  • Zoological parks, amusement parks and circuses
  • Museums and temporary exhibition rooms
  • Libraries (except university and specialized ones)
  • Cultural events organized in higher education establishments
  • Fun fairs with more than 30 stands or attractions
  • Any event, cultural, sporting, fun or festive, organized in a public space likely to give rise to control of people’s access
  • Ships and cruise boats with accommodation
  • Discotheques, clubs and dancing bars.

Please note, however, that many places of leisure and culture have lowered their capacity to less than 50 people in order to be able to welcome all audiences without distinction at the entrance.

How do you know what to visit without a health pass?

Places of leisure and culture communicate almost instantly on their website and social networks. Do not hesitate to inquire online or by phone before thinking that you cannot access it without a health pass. THE tourist offices are of course also good references. They will allow you to group together the information collected from local establishments.

For workshops, courses and other activities offered by places of leisure and culture, remember to book. During the summer, and even outside the pandemic period, many visitors flock to tourist and cultural activities. Current health conditions may lead to the implementation of limited gauges. Will it be possible to go to the restaurant?
